About CharityControl
CharityControl started inside a real charity. The Society of Botanical Artists — a 140-year-old artists' charity — needed what every small charity needs: to run meetings properly, keep the registers the Commission expects, see its money clearly, and prove the difference it makes. Off-the-shelf board portals managed papers; nothing managed governance.
So we built the operating system we couldn't buy: registers that feed each other, deadlines that chase themselves, decisions recorded the moment they're made, and — because software should prove it, not just store it — a live view of every governance control and the evidence behind it.
CharityControl is built in the UK by Brandedmark Ltd, with working trustees as design partners. We use public Charity Commission data and are not affiliated with or endorsed by the Charity Commission.
The commitment
No small charity should have to pay merely to understand its trustee duties, obtain a credible baseline policy template or complete essential trustee awareness training.
That's why charitycontrol.org exists: complete, free guides, templates and the Charity Control Check — usable without an account, forever. The paid platform earns its keep by keeping governance alive: owners, reminders, versions, evidence, assurance.
