Terms of service
The service
CharityControl provides governance software for charities. Free resources and the Charity Control Check are provided as general information for trustees — they are not legal, accounting or regulatory advice, and results are not a Charity Commission rating or accreditation.
Your workspace
- You confirm you're entitled to act for the charity you create a workspace for. Workspaces created self-serve start as unverified and may be subject to additional checks; misrepresenting authority over a charity is grounds for removal.
- Your charity's data remains your charity's. You can export it at any time and request deletion when you leave.
- You're responsible for the accuracy of what your charity records and files; CharityControl assembles and reminds, it does not file on your behalf.
Fair use & availability
We operate rate limits to keep the service fast for everyone and target high availability without guaranteeing uninterrupted service. We'll give at least 30 days' notice of material price changes; founding-cohort pricing is honoured for its full term.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law. Otherwise our liability is capped at the fees paid in the preceding 12 months; we are not liable for decisions your trustees take, or filings your charity misses.
