Show your impact with evidence

Checked 2026-08-06 · A couple of minutes to read

Add each impact claim as a piece of evidence on the Impact page, with a source. It starts as a draft. Once a trustee approves it, it can appear to supporters or on your public impact page. Nothing is published until it's approved.

Add a piece of evidence

  1. Go to Impact, find Evidence & updates, and select Add evidence.
  2. Write a headline for supporters, for example "24 students finished the spring course".
  3. Pick the kind: story, statistic, photos, testimonial or report.
  4. Say when it happened, and describe the update in plain words.
  5. Link it to a project, or leave it as whole charity. You can link a measure too, so the claim sits next to the number it backs up.
  6. Say where the evidence lives, for example the course completion register.
  7. Choose who may see it once approved: internal only, supporters, or public.
  8. Select Add evidence. It's saved as a draft, so nothing is published yet.

Approval keeps your claims honest

A trustee reviews each draft and selects Approve. Only then can it reach anyone outside the charity. Items marked internal only are signed off instead, because they're never published.

If anyone edits an approved item, it goes back to draft and needs approval again. That way, what supporters see is always exactly what was approved. A trustee can withdraw approval at any time.

Where approved evidence appears

Evidence works best alongside your measures. See Track KPIs for setting those up.
