Give supporters their own portal
Open a supporter and find the Supporter portal card. Select Create link, then copy it or email it to them. The page thanks them by name and shows what their gifts supported. It's private to them, read-only, and needs no sign-in.
Share a portal link
- Go to Giving, then Supporters, and open the supporter.
- Find the Supporter portal card and select Create link.
- Select Copy link to share it yourself, or Email it to them to send it with a short thank-you message. The email option only appears when they've agreed to email updates and have an address on file, so consent is respected automatically.
- Treat the link like a password. Anyone who has it can see that supporter's page, so share it with the supporter and no one else.
What the supporter sees
A private page that thanks them by name and shows their total given and number of gifts. If their gifts funded a project, directly or through a campaign, that work appears with updates on it. Updates only show once they're approved by your trustees and marked for supporters or the public, so nothing half-finished ever reaches a donor. See impact evidence for how updates are approved.
For example, Margaret Hale gave £50 to Meadowbank Community Trust's summer appeal, which funds their lunch club. Her page thanks her and shows the approved updates from the lunch club.
What the supporter can't do
The page is read-only. Supporters can't see other donors, your records, or anything inside CharityControl, and they can't change anything from the page. If they want their details or contact preferences changed, they get in touch with you and you update their supporter record.
Managing links
For safety the full link isn't stored, so it can't be shown again later. Select New link to make a fresh one; the old link stops working. Select Revoke to switch the page off entirely, which takes effect straight away.
