What the free plan includes
If your charity's latest income on the Charity Commission register is £100,000 or less, CharityControl is free with no time limit. You get meetings, minutes, policies, risks, the compliance calendar, supporters and Gift Aid claims to HMRC. We never ask for a card.
Who gets the free plan?
Any charity whose latest income on the Charity Commission register is £100,000 or less. We check this automatically from your charity number when you sign up. If the register shows no income figure yet, for example a new or dormant charity, you're free too. There's no time limit, no card is ever asked for, and every plan includes unlimited trustees and volunteers.
What's included
- Trustee register, meetings, agendas, minutes and board packs
- Risk register, policies, conflicts of interest and the compliance calendar
- Your charitable purpose, trustee terms and eligibility declarations
- Serious-incident recording and the report-or-not decision
- Supporters, donations and Gift Aid claims sent to HMRC online
- AI reads your governing document to set up who decides what
- Two AI-drafted sets of minutes a month
A small charity can run its whole board on it. See claim Gift Aid online for what the Gift Aid tools do.
What if our income is over £100,000?
You get a 60-day free trial of the full product, still with no card. If you want to carry on afterwards, choose a paid plan from Admin & settings.
One check we may ask for
Free workspaces are for the charity itself, so we sometimes ask you to confirm your connection to it. This is often automatic, for example when your email matches the charity's contact address on the register. If we do need to ask, a gentle banner in the app tells you exactly what to do. It's routine, and most volunteer trustees signing up with a personal email see it.
